Geoffrey Aitken
coldly attractive.
hauntingly beautiful,
this steel grey
stiffened upright interface
reflects dystopian engineering.
high concrete walls
allow graffiti
unlike street art appeal
to be viewed from windows
of electric trains.
mine, in-bound, mid-morning
at signal monitored speeds
adheres to schedules
keeping passengers comfortably coherent.
seasoned, these manufacturing sites
out-weather changing unemployment rates.
finally, we arrive at its station
the epi-centre of this industrial zone.
no one steps down
no one steps up
