tonight I dine on the city

tonight I dine on the city 

devouring empty streets, picking

floodlights from my teeth and 

licking all the buildings, taste of a hundred

thousand stories on my tongue, grinding

up past lives and cast off hopes between

my molars, rolling over the masses in my

mouth, a taste of ashes and electricity

tonight I dine on the city
