On a train in Toronto
Ewen Glass
Ewen Glass
a boy watches Pocahontas
on his Mum’s phone,
his head in her lap.
The way she strokes his hair
is the most tender thing.
I feel safe; I’m forty and
I feel safe. I could weep.
Ewen Glass
Too many people
told me there would be too many people
when I got here.

they said, in those sorts of places. What
they meant is:
there’s more than one place of worship.
